I too am having this same problem. My fiancee had his interview on May 24th of 2010 and it is now July 39th, 2010 and we are still waiting for this “administrative processing”. I have called the Visa system in London and have written them numerous emails and always get the response that there is additional administrative processing that is required. He has had all of his background checks done. All paperwork was done properly and now everything is put on hold. This is just heartbreaking since we started this process in July of 09′ so it has been almost a year and still waiting…waiting…waiting.

These numbers prove that immigration, at least illegal immigration, is not the issue some wish to make it out as. If only less than 1% of the immigrants in question were up to no good, that puts their honesty rate at a higher number than any group I can think of off-hand.

The admin processing is very unfair. My fiance and I have been waiting 6 waits now (this is nothing compared to the wait that some others have had to endure). At the interivew, he was told he has passed and provsionally his visa been accepted but a small check remains and the embassy will get back to him within 2 weeks. Now, week 6 and nothing. He has had 3 other security checks within the last year. I understand that some checks are necessary and needed for everyone’s welfare & safety in the U.S but 4 in the same year? SERIOUSLY? Not to mention that our life has been in limbo w/o plans and the heartache. We need a better system to utilize tax dollars and find better ways to enhance the process.

Chris is absolutely correct. The investments must also be at a legitimate risk, which can sometimes be a bit disheartening for the immigrants to hear. Also, many times there is the impression that the jobs must merely be created, when in fact they must be sustained for at least two years.
