President Obama has been filling his cabinet and staff positions with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences. The New York Times published an intriguing portfolio of these individuals, including today’s featured American immigrant – Patrick Gaspard. Mr. Gaspard is the new Director of the Office of Political Affairs for the White House. During the campaign, Mr. Gaspard served as the National Political Director of the Obama campaign and had previously been a political operative in numerous campaigns dating back to the 1989 New York City mayoral campaign. Gaspard hails from New York City, but was born in the Congo to Haitian parents.
