Senator Schumer named Chair of Immigration, Refugees and Border Security Subcommittee

Congratulations to Senator Charles Schumer on his recent naming as the Chairperson of the Immigration, Refugees and Border Security Subcommittee.  A subcommittee of the U.S. Senate’s Judiciary Committee, the Immigration, Refugees and Border Security Subcommittee has jurisdiction over immigration, citizenship and refugee laws.  Additionally, the subcommittee oversees the various immigration-related government agencies and private immigration relief bills.

We wish Senator Schumer success in his new position, and also congratulate the other members of the Immigration, Refugees and Border Security Subcommittee: Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont), Dianne Feinstein (D-California), Richard Durbin (D-Illinois), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-Rhode Island), Ron Wyden (D-Oregon), John Cornyn (R-Texas), Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), Jon Kyl (R-Arizona), and Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama).
