New York Times Begins Dialogue on Immigration

The New York Times announced yesterday that it is launching a discussion about immigration.  In the coming months, the newspaper is promising numerous printed and online articles examining different aspects of immigration.   This weekend the newspaper is going to begin the series with an examination of immigrants in a Virginia school system.

The newspaper also released two interactive features on its website – a searchable database of ethnic diversity in each school district within the United States and a map of historical immigrant populations in the United States.  These are two of the more interesting time-wasters I have found on the Internet lately.
