50 Indicted in Marriage Fraud Scheme

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently announced a massive indictment against fifty individuals who had participated in a marriage fraud scheme.  The scheme was based out of Cincinnati, and included at least 27 married couples.  The indicted included charges against both the U.S. Citizens and the foreign nationals.  The foreign nationals are alleged to have paid the U.S. Citizens and their handlers in exchange for marriage.

Conspiracy to commit marriage fraud is punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $2250,000.
